Saguaro is the nation's largest cacti and Saguaro National Park is home to one of the highest densities of Saguaros. With your Good Trip Adventures guide you'll adventure through this unique landscape, from the Sonoran Desert to the Rincon Mountains. Some might consider these two parks in one - and not just because it is split by the road. Over 1100 species live in Saguaro National Park, so be sure to keep your eyes open as you might spot a gila monster or desert tortoise!

Join us in January for an Arizona birding and nature tour, a gorgeous time to explore Arizona's saguaro deserts. Temperatures are typically perfect and light is ideal for photography. Birds abound as wintering species arrive to join residents such as Greater Roadrunner, Vermilion Flycatcher, Verdin, Gambel's Quail, Pyrrhuloxia, and Phainopepla. Every year rarities occur in Tucson's tree-lined parks or outlying pecan groves where in many years Lewis' Woodpecker can be found.

This ten-day Venture has been put together with the goal of finding as many of the Southeastern Arizona specialties as possible, and at this time of year we should encounter many of them with ease. Early mornings are best spent in the desert before it gets too hot, and the sunrises are nothing short of spectacular. Saguaro National Park harbors Costa's Hummingbird while the deserts east of Portal hold Bendire's, Crissal, and Curve-billed Thrashers. Canyons will be a theme and we will visit many, if not all of the following - Madera, Florida, Ramsey, Carr, Miller, Ash, Huachuca, and Cave Creek. Within these and others we will encounter many of our targets, from the incomparable Elegant Trogon and Painted Redstart to the incredibly vocal Sulphur-bellied Flycatchers and rare Black-capped Gnatcatcher.

As the owner of Reisen Arizona Day Tours, and your tour guide, I strive to give the most entertaining and fun filled tours around. Because I am a third generation Tucsonan, I will be able to provide you with a tour that is interesting, educational, fun and filled with insights and perspectives that only someone who has grown up here can give you. Reisen Arizona Day Tours can accommodate from one to twelve guests on any of our tours. This makes our tours much more intimate and personalized. Lunch and entrance fees are always included in the price of your tour. I also love to take families on tour and children under 10 years* old are charged 50% of the listed tour price. All of the tours that I give can be customized. Please ask me about a destination that you are interested in if it doesn’t appear on the tour list. It is my goal to make your visit to Southern Arizona a time that you won’t forget. Happy travels from the Reisen Arizona Family! * Unfortunately, at this time, we cannot accommodate children who require a car seat.
