FLIGHT SEEING TRIP
A favorite of the lodge staff is the opportunity to take one of Alaska's famous bush planes on a trip to see many of Alaska's amazing wilderness locations. You'll get close to some amazing sights that nature has to offer. Whether its flying along the inlet cliffs to viewing steam venting from one of our volcanos, Mt. Redoubt, you'll come away from the trip appreciating the natural beauty that is rarely untouched elsewhere in the world. Our guests have been amazed by the clear alpine lakes, gorges carved by mountain snow melt, majestic glaciers, and river systems that draw moose, bears, and many other types of wildlife to its banks.

BEAR VIEWING FLY OUT
Do not miss this adventure! Fly across the Cook Inlet in a float plane. It will look impossible to land and then the pilot will set the plane down on Wolverine Creek or Big Lakes and the impossible becomes possible. Then you will meet your guides and transfer into a boat to see bears; both brown and black bears frequent the area. Your guide will tell you what to expect. This is really a two-for-one adventure: the scenery and flight there and back is worth the price even without seeing bears. If there is wildlife on the way there or back your pilot will bring you down for a better view.

SEA KAYAKING
Sea kayaking is another adventure that guests continue to enjoy. You'll leave from the Homer spit and take a short ride to a nearby island to start your time out on the sea. You'll have the chance to see otters, jellyfish, and an assortment of sea plants growing from the depths of the bay.

KENAI FJORDS CRUISE
This is one of the highlights of an Alaska vacation. You board the ship in Seward and set out for your adventure. There is inside seating and outdoor covered and uncovered areas. The staff is excellent and the captain will maneuver the ship to give you the best views of sea life and wildlife along the shore and banks. You will see whales, porpoise, seals, sea lions, many different birds and often moose, bears, and mountain goats on the surrounding cliffs. You will sail into the fjords and watch as glaciers brake off and fall into the sea. A National Parks Ranger is on every trip to answer questions and point out things of interest. Look for the battle encasements high on the rocks leftover from world war two when the Japanese were invading the United States through Alaska. The crew will serve you a buffet of salmon and prime rib plus side dishes and dessert. They will even make a blended drink from the 20,000 year old ice off the glacier for you!
