The views from the summit are amazing with a 360 degree panorama of the Cascade Range. We have the option of descending the route or traversing the peak to Sahale Arm and Cascade Pass.

The climb is demanding due to its eighteen mile approach hike up the Hoh River. The final summit pyramid climbs low fifth class rock and offers fantastic views of the Olympic Mountains and the distant Cascade Range.

The climb presents a moderate challenge with amazing views of Dorado Needle, Forbidden Peak, Mount Buckner, Mount Logan, Johannesburg and the other peaks of the Ptarmigan Traverse.

"The Mountain" as referred to by locals has all the features of much higher glaciated peaks making it an exceptional training ground for aspiring climbers

The guided climb of Mount Shuksan is via Sulphide Glacier to the base of the summit pyramid. There is 400 feet of rock climbing (scrambling!) to the 9,288-foot summit.

We guide two different routes on Mount Baker, the Coleman/Deming Glacier on the Northside of the peak and the Easton Glacier on the Southern flanks.

Our Rainier mountain guides have many years of experience on the mountain. Leadership and good decision making are key elements of a safe and successful summit climb. There are many other challenging routes to the summit of Mt. Rainier including Liberty Ridge, the Kautz route, Emmons Glacier and the Tahoma Glacier route.
