Our local waters are home to some of the largest & most plentiful tripletail in the South. Tripletail are one of the absolute best fish to sight cast, very hard fighters, cooperative eaters, and one of the best table fare you will ever come across! It's surprising how many people have never heard of or even seen a tripletail. The best description to someone that has never seen one is basically a prehistoric dinosaur looking bream on steroids with razor sharp gill plates, sharp fins and well, 3 tails. Some people think they are gorgeous, some people think they are odd looking but no one can deny how tasty they are! Tripletail are opportunistic feeders that lie motionless until their prey comes close and they strike rapidly. They feed on fish and benthic crustaceans, including gulf menhaden, Atlantic bumper, glass minnows, swimming red crabs, anchovies, shrimp, and squid.

Layout boat hunting is a very exciting & unique way to experience waterfowl "up close & personal"! We use custom built, two-man layout boats made by Layout Addictions in Wisconsin (where hunting divers & sea ducks in the Great Lakes can only be done from a layout!). Our custom "Ghost-2 Man" layout boats are approximately 10'8" long by 75" wide, weight capacity of over 500 lbs, super buoyant even in choppy waters, and have a super low profile coupled with a custom paint job that makes you "disappear" on the open water! Ducks will decoy right in your lap, completely unaware. We utilize a tender boat that stands by at a safe distance and communicates with the layout hunters via handheld VHS radio so when birds get knocked down the tender boat will fetch them up!

Our mallard farm and gun dog training facility (located in northern Jackson County, FL) is situated on 210 acres of beautiful farmland surrounded by ancient live oaks, native red cedar, & tall southern pines. We raise over 1,000 mature North American mallards between two properly manicured ponds (13 acres & 5 acres). We have 6 total blinds stationed around the two ponds with each blind holding up to 6 people. Each blind is strategically placed around the ponds giving everyone ample opportunities to harvest ducks. From novice beginners to well seasoned shooters, everyone walks away with a fun & memorable experience!

When I was around 10 years old, my brother, cousins, and I would don headlamps and arm ourselves with bee-bee guns, spotlights, and my uncle's old rusty gigging spear and then head out to the swampy pond behind my grandfather's house to hunt bullfrogs. We'd spend the entire night slogging through the muck and wading chest-deep into the green water trying to stick a spear into a croaking pair of glowing eyes. At sunrise, we'd hike back to my grandpa's house, covered in mud and bug bites, to clean our catch of bullfrogs which grandpa would cook us for breakfast. He'd fry the legs in a massive cast iron pan and serve them to us with a side of biscuits and gravy which we would devour before passing out for the entire afternoon so we were well rested for another session of gigging that evening.
