Or we might share how the cave habitat provides for creatures important to human life. Caves: Bend’s lava caves have a delicate ecosystem that few have experienced to the fullest! Wanderlust Tours is the only guide company permitted in these special lava caves. These caves are also wild, meaning they do not have a paved path or lighting. Closed toe shoes are recommended for navigating the uneven rocky surfaces. Cave Difficulty: Mother Nature has created a wonderfully diverse array of caves that offer a variety of experiences. All of the caves we visit are wild, meaning other than the staircase to enter them there are no man made improvements put into the caves (walkways or lights). The walking surface is uneven and can be varying degrees of rugged and rocky. Since becoming a professional southern Oregon fishing guide, I have conquered steelhead fishing on the Rogue River. Although the Rogue River does not have as big of return numbers as the Umpqua fisheries there is still plenty of Rogue River fishing to be had. An average day fishing the Rogue River will bring 3-4 steelhead to the boat, all of good size. I enjoy fishing for steelhead on the Rogue River not only because it has taught me so much in the past but because the low return numbers make southern Oregon fishing guides work that much harder to catch steelhead on the Rogue River.

Our drift boat trips to the McKenzie happen here! This is a long stretch of river with several put-in's and take-out's giving us the option of finding the perfect drift. While we are advocating for this to become a Wild Trout only fishery, currently it is a mix of wild and stocked trout. On this float trip you will fish from the boat most of the time, but there are also good wade fishing spots that we stop to cover the water. Season runs from last Saturday in April to October 31st.
