The Dreamlander team is a small, elite group of people who have a passion for providing extraordinary memories. We are fascinated and humbled by all that Marco Island has to offer. We are a small, family owned and family operated business. Above all, our attention is kept in keeping our ocean and its occupant’s habitat pristine. At a very close second, we ensure wildlife viewing, eco-education and happiness. Touring with us will guarantee your family has the experience of a lifetime and, honestly, isn’t that why we vacation in the first place? Owning this business has been my dream for 5 years now. I started out as an Eco-Tour Captain for Dreamlander but always knew I wanted more. Being born and raised on this island, I was brought up on boats. Most of my childhood memories include expeditions through the Ten Thousand Islands and trying to incorporate all the best parts into a 2 or 3 hour tour has become a passion of mine. I have lived in a few different places in my life, including Alaska, Utah, Illinois and Massachusetts. After every venture to a new place, I found myself returning to Marco and for a while, I could never understand what was pulling me back here. ​I made it my goal to show you why we all come back to this beautiful island, whether it is to vacation or to live. Our native captains will skillfully guide you through the 10,000 islands and give you a rare look at many endangered animals and bird species. You will be blown away as you encounter playful bottlenose dolphins feeding and swimming along side the boat and possibly manatees grazing on sea grass. There's also a good chance you'll see brown and white pelicans, roseatte spoonbills, herons and egrets - all in their natural habitat. You may even see alligators. All this while on your way to one of Kice islands secluded beaches for some beach combing. Kice island offers you 6 miles of some of the best sea shelling in the world due to it only being accessible by boat.

Located South of Naples, Marco Island is the gateway to the 10,000 Islands National Wildlife Refuge, the Everglades National Park, and some of the best fly fishing in the world. The third largest wilderness area in the Unites States, the Everglades lives up to its reputation as one of the country's wildest places. The Everglades, when accessed via water, reveals itself to be one of the greatest shallow water fisheries in the world as well as one of the most accommodating places for anglers of all abilities to chase the fish of their dreams with a fly rod. The part of the Everglades that we fish is a tidal coastal ecosystem comprised of thousands of miles of shorelines protected from the wind by mangroves that provide the perfect habitat for the gamefish we pursue. Mud, sand, oysters, or the combination of the three compose the bottom of these mangrove estuaries and the tannic water that flows over them creates an environment that fish thrive in and provides anglers an experience only found here.

Come join Capt John Hand and enjoy the pristine backcountry of the Florida Everglades. You will experience an unbelievable fishery from the small freshwater creeks of the inner Glades, to the outer islands on the Gulf of Mexico. As a 4th generation Florida native, Capt John has explored these waters for more than 4 decades. Capt John began as a youngster poling his father on wooden skiffs to fish the Florida waters to provide food for the family. The Capt now poles his light weight Hell’s Bay Guide skiff, to provide his clients with an experience only a Florida native would have the knowledge to provide. Capt. John began fly fishing as a youth when his Grandfather taught him the art of catching bluegill and bass on Lake Okeechobee. Capt John is a Federation of Fly Fishers Master Certified Casting Instructor with the ability to not only put his clients on fish, but also to assist them in learning the proper techniques used to bring different target species boatside. The targeted species can range from Bluegill and Bass in the creeks, to laid up Tarpon in the estuaries. The Capt also targets Snook , Redfish, Cobia, Pompano, Speckled Trout, Spanish Mackeral, and Shark on spinning rod or fly. So come and spend a day with the Capt and go home with some unforgettable memories of Florida’s “Last Frontier”.
