Olympic Outdoor Center has been guiding tours and teaching classes for over 30 years and in 1992 we became one of the first companies to offer paddlesports gear sales online through KayakProShop.com. For 25 years we operated as one business but two brands. Now, to better serve you, our customers, whether next door or around the globe, we have decided to bring all of our services together under one brand, with one website - olympicoutdoorcenter.com. The same friendly and knowledgeable staff you trust, and gear you have come to count on, now together with our tours, classes, events and more.

Olympic National Park offers up a multitude of beautiful landscapes indicative of the Pacific Northwest. During this photography workshop, we may visit the Hoh Rain Forest and its Hall of Mosses as well as the forests found in the Quinault region of the park. We will also photograph the rugged coastline and its awe-inspiring sea stacks which can be found at First, Second, and Third Beaches. Other coastal locations include Ruby and Rialto beaches. Around Lake Crescent, we will explore the inner forested areas in search of cascades and waterfalls. This photography workshop will take advantage of the best the northwest has to offer on Washington's Olympic Peninsula.

Immerse your senses in the otherworldly Hoh Rain Forest, a sea of brilliant green mosses and lichens hanging from trees hundreds of feet tall in one of the planet's wettest places, which also creates the perfect environment for one of the quietest places on earth. This magical landscape evades description, which is why people so often reach for fictional comparisons (e.g. FernGully, Avatar, Fangorn Forest from Lord of the Rings), but you really must experience it for yourself.

Located in the heart of the Olympic Mountains in Washington State, Mt. Olympus is surrounded by pristine old-growth forest, as well as many other glaciated peaks. The approach is a long one, but very rewarding as one becomes transfixed by the solitude of the forest filled with wildlife and natural beauty. The climbing route involves glaciated slopes and then a short rock scramble to the top, a hard-earned summit deep in the backcountry.

April through June, Hood Canal Adventures offers a 2.5 hour American Bald Eagle Tour! Our Spring low tides uncover the bounty of the sea, and the plain midshipman sculpin spawning season serves up easy pickings for Bald Eagles. Bald Eagles from around the Puget Sound flock to the shores of the Hood Canal during this time. It is not uncommon to see 60 to 100 Bald Eagles on the beach and perched in overhanging trees! Watch and learn about Bald Eagles with our Biologist and Naturalists, and be sure to bring your camera for some rare up-close photos of eagles in their natural environment! The tour leaves from Yelvik's Beach.
